Ziegler Antique Rug
e picked up an antique Ziegler, circa 1800, 25ft x 18ft. The rug is quite fragile as you can imagine and needs a lot of repairs to stop it falling to bits. We will also give it a professional hand clean and return it with specialist underlay, which will allow the rug/carpet to be used without it deteriorating any further.
Our client inherited this piece from his grandmother and had no idea of its origins or value.
A similar, but smaller rug sold 2 years ago at auction in New York for $220,000.
Our client had intended selling the rug for about the cost of the repair, before we informed him of its possible value.
